It has come to my attention that the fast-dissolving series of selfies and stuff that Snapchatters and Instagrammers line up in rows are referred to as “Stories”. I agree with the sentiment of this Atlantic article that however cool and interesting the format might be, this is an appalling misuse of language.
But you know what’s worse? In my day job, I am part of an Agile Development time, and the tracking software that manages task flow describes a chunk of related activities under a single label as … an “Epic”.
Jesus wept.
